The UK Government has announced that it intends to reduce migration. The Home Secretary James Cleverly announced recently that the there will be tougher visa rules
The UK Government intends to meet their intention of reducing migration by increasing the salary requirement for Skilled Workers and Family Visas to £38700. It is unclear how the Government has come to this magic number, however, there will be more clarity after the policy is published on the new rules.
The intention is to being the new rules in spring 2024. The increase of salary from £26200 under Skilled Worker Route and £18600 from the Family Routes to £38700 is a very high increase. In our opinion the new set of rules will only apply to people who will be making applications under the new rules and the people who are already in the UK are unlikely to be affected unless they are going to bring their dependents after Spring of 2024.
The statement from James Cleverly
We shall look forward to the new changes and hope this will not tear families apart. However, it appears to be more of a political issue as the elections are nearing in 2024.
