Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) Increase from October 2020
Following today’s (11 March 2020) budget announcement the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is set to increase from £400 per year to £624 per year. This is again huge increase for immigrants wanting to come to the UK or stay in the UK.
The IHS increase will be applicable from October 2020 for non-EU nationals and will be expanded to EU/EEA nationals from January 2021.
The IHS for students on the other hand will increase from £300 to £470
It is not a surprise that the Conservative Government is increasing the IHS, however, it will need to see in future how far would the IHS be increased and how much benefits will be received by the National Health Services.
